In this world, there will always be someone faster.
There will always be someone who will be able to run the extra mile.
There will always be someone who has the strength to break the barriers of the mind.
There will always be someone with the fire burning to win.
Aim to be that someone.

thought about this while i was at the doctor's. of course then i added the cliche-ish "Nike. Just Do It". yeah i know. but it's amazing how productive your mind can be in the serenity of the waiting room of the doctor's clinic. then also was coming with something else when i was distracted by a number of things. like figuring out how old the receptionist was, cause she did look juvenile in appearance. there was also the boring game of soccer, a match between singapore and iran, of which i kept scoffing at the score which was 2 to 1 in iran's favor. money well spent on the singapore lions.

alright, recently got hold of this book which my brother bought. something to do with self-coaching yourself by this great coach, brad hudson along with some of his professional associates. it's not bad a guide. and i feel that maybe i could try to come up with a plan for myself. like a 16 week thing. should be enough to lead me til i join a track team, don't you agree. of course i know realise that i might be starting out to late but better late than never as they say, innit? going for an hour run tml morning. that'll surely leave me drained. but no fear, i have 100 plus and red bull for that.

you know, i have come up with a very interesting way of making myself have a better mind or something like that. what is it you ask? well, okay. what's the worse-tasting drink you can think of? okay, once you've got that, get it ready in your mind. then also get your favorite drink in mind as well. when you're out for training, evaluate yourself. see how your mental prowess is going. see whether you actually did put some effort into it, physically and especially mentally. if you feel you did improve, you did fight, you did put in a substantial effort and compared to your previous trainings, you've been going along consistently and/or improving, go get your favorite drink. if not, then take the worst-tasting drink and then have a taste of defeat. good idea?

leave off now with an advice, never run to ngee ann poly area unless you're going to check out the girls. it's seriously a very bad route cause of all the traffic lights. that is if you're running from singapore poly. and also there'll be like tons of students crowding at the bus-stop so you'll literally have to squeeze your way here and there and be agile in order to avoid contact with them. or you could bulldoze your way through. that could be a more effective way for those gung-ho.

and here's a quote i just thought of. set an expectation for you to exceed subtly. that way you know you've got more in the tank to power all the way through a race. i dunno whether that was a good one but there it goes.
